Taking a break from 2.5 hours of basementing* to preserve my good mood
*we’re clearing out the basement of all of our stuff so that construction can start. Unfortunately, a lot of my stuff from that time (ny college) used to be really triggering for me which raises my anxiety level by 1 million. However, most of it is not triggering/shameful anymore which goes to show my awesome progress and hard work. I’m going to use my (much improved) anxiety with this as leverage to accomplish another, less uncomfortable (but still avoided) task: organizing & cataloging all of my books.

Ahhh my friends were so nice and came over when I asked them to help me organize my nightmare of a room yesterday. This is the before… I’ll post the after next!
I love my friends and that I can tell them that I’m struggling with something and their first question is.. “how can I help make it better?”Permalink 11 notes

Doing the oven self cleaning mode with the windows open until 2 am since the chocolate cupcake recipe overflowed the pan. Welllllllll now I can unfuck the kitchen. And it’s needed to happen for a while so I guess it’s good.

Alright so I have been trying to move my desk for about a year and a half at this point. I’m usually a buckle down and do it kind of person but this is driving me nuts. It’s been low on my priorities and its a pain in the ass since I have to disassemble it to move it and then reassemble it in the new location. Lately it’s become a symbol of all the stuff I used to avoid and I’m determined to get it done. However now that I have the time to do it I am frantically thinking of everything else I could do instead. Im going to attempt to do it in two 20-10s but I’m pretty anxious about it. Anyone have any tips? My therapist recommended that I take my ADD meds (which I normally use for class only as needed) and I just did.

unfuckyourhabitat asked: I'll pass it along to the developer. Thanks for letting me know instead of leaving an angry review. :) We're planning another update in the next two weeks or so, so hopefully we can resolve this for you and anyone else who's having this bug!
I could never leave an angry review for UFYH! I am so thankful to you. I appreciate your efforts in making cleaning accessible and possible to those with chronic pain, depression, etc. who really benefit from a clean environment. It is truly excellent and helpful work that you do.

Introducing the UfYH app for iPhone and iPad!
(Reblogging in case you have a life or something and didn’t see the announcement over the weekend)
This is the big thing I’ve been working on for the last eight months! Isn’t it pretty?
If you’re into:
- Supporting women entrepreneurs,
- Supporting UfYH and allowing us to grow,
- Putting $1.99 toward something more awesome than coffee (I KNOW),
- Allowing independent developers to play in Apple’s game, or
- Just cleaning your fucking house, then
you can buy it here. Or search the app store for UfYH or Unfilth Your Habitat (Apple doesn’t like f-bombs in app names). And if you’re feeling especially generous, leave a review or rating!
Don’t have an iWhatever? Feel free to reblog and spread the word! Thank you to Team UfYH, who kicks ass every single day.
Android users, we’re workin’ on it. I’ll keep you posted.
